1. Warranty Overview
At 74 Weld, we take great pride in the quality and durability of our products. To ensure that our customers receive the best possible experience, we offer warranties on various parts and components. This document outlines the terms, conditions, and limitations of our warranties.
2. Covered Components and Warranty Periods
The warranty coverage provided by 74 Weld is based on the specific components and the tire size that is used with them. The following outlines the key components covered under warranty and their respective terms:
a) Gears, Bearings, Unit Bearings, and Axle Shafts:
- Warranty Period: 1 Year
- Coverage: All gears, bearings, unit bearings, and axle shafts are warranted for defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the original date of purchase.
- Limitations: The warranty is contingent upon the proper use of the product within the tire size guidelines listed below. Any product failure caused by the use of oversized tires, improper installation, or excessive abuse is not covered.
b) Uprights, Knuckles, and Caliper Brackets:
- Warranty Period: Lifetime
- Coverage: Uprights, knuckles, and caliper brackets are warranted for life against defects in material and workmanship, provided that the vehicle is used within the manufacturer recommended tire size range.
- Limitations: Coverage for this warranty is based on having an authorized installation by a dealer or authorized installer. Improper installation can lead to issues. So, in order to cover our customers, we require that installations be handled by our dealers. If the tire size exceeds the specified limits for the corresponding axle, these components are not covered by the lifetime warranty. Please refer to the approved tire size limits for each axle type below.
3. Tire Size Limitations
The warranty coverage for certain products is based on the size of the tires being used. Using tires that exceed the recommended sizes can lead to excessive stress on components, resulting in failure that is not covered under warranty. The following tire size limits apply:
- Bronco 32 Spline Axle: Up to 38-inch tire
- Jeep 32 Spline Axle: Up to 40-inch tire
- Toyota 30 Spline Axle: Up to 37-inch tire
- Toyota 32 Spline Axle: Up to 37-inch tire
- Toyota 36 Spline Axle: Up to 40-inch tire
- Ranger Raptor: Up to 37-inch tire
Note: Any attempt to run larger tires than those specified will void warranty coverage. For example, running a 40-inch tire on a 30-spline axle shaft may cause premature failure, and such damage is not covered under warranty.
4. Steering Rack Warranty
Coverage: The warranty for the steering rack is limited to the housing only. The housing is covered against defects in material and workmanship for the life of the product.
Exclusions: The internals of the steering rack, such as the rack bar, gears, and seals, are not covered under warranty. Any breakage or failure of these internal components is not subject to warranty claims. Additionally, breakage caused by misuse or external factors is not covered. Any intrusion of water or dirt into the housing will void the warranty. The warranty does not cover wear items such as internal bushings which are designed to be wear items.
Important Note: If you experience a breakage of the rack bar or related components that are not manufactured by 74 Weld, this will not be covered under warranty. The most common issue we see is rack failures due to aftermarket Heim joint steering leading to a tear in the boot. Once the boot tears water and debris can get into the rack and this leads to failure. This is not covered under any warranty. Make sure your boots are not torn and inspect them regularly. Tears in the boots will lead to a rack failure if not caught immediately.
5. Warranty Claim Procedure
To file a warranty claim, the following steps must be followed:
- Contact 74 Weld Support: Reach out to our customer support team at info@74weld.com or (619) 286-6656 to notify us of the issue and provide relevant details about the product and failure.
- Provide Documentation: Customers must provide proof of purchase (original sales receipt) and photographic evidence of the defect or failure, including clear images of the damaged part.
- Product Return: If the warranty claim is approved, the customer may be required to return the defective product to 74 Weld for inspection. Shipping costs for returning the product are typically the responsibility of the customer unless the defect is deemed to be covered under warranty.
- Evaluation: Upon receipt of the product, our engineering team will inspect the part and determine whether the issue falls within the warranty coverage. If the claim is approved, a replacement part or a repair will be offered, at the discretion of 74 Weld.
6. Warranty Exclusions
The following conditions will void the warranty and are not covered:
- Use of the product with tires larger than the recommended size for the respective axle.
- Installation errors or improper modifications, including, but not limited to, incorrect alignment, improper mounting, or modification of the product.
- Damage caused by accidents, collisions, abuse, neglect, misuse, racing, or off-road activities that exceed reasonable usage.
- Normal wear and tear from use.
- Any products that have been altered or repaired by unauthorized personnel or entities.
- Failure resulting from the use of non-approved accessories, parts, or components in conjunction with 74 Weld products.

8. Disclaimer of Implied Warranties
Except for the warranties expressly stated in this document, all other warranties, including any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are disclaimed. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
